Ocean Obs Research Coordination Network (RCN):

A virtual workshop with two sessions was organized by the Ocean Obs Research Coordination Network  on December 4, 2020 with 62 global participants to offer visibility into programmes that are planning  a response to the Programme Call of the Ocean Decade. The meeting offered the opportunity for participants to discuss possible synergies and complementarity between their programs. Presentations from these sessions can be found on the dedicated workshop page here (link coming soon!).

In the new virtual environment, we miss the traditional group photos that brings a smile to faces. We do our best to substitute by screen shots. Here are some of the participants from the two sessions of the workshop.

Best wishes,

On behalf of the organizing committee (Frank Muller-Karger, Jay Pearlman, Kim Juniper, Sophie Seeyave, Iain Shepherd, Elva Escobar-Briones)

The OceanObs RCN is an NSF-sponsored forum on all aspects of ocean observing. Discussions identify advances and challenges in ocean observing and may identify new technologies and promote their cost-effective development, identify policy priorities, and highlight capacity building requirements for the next decade. This includes discussion of Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) and balancing ocean observations, science, use, and conservation requirements.
